The last year that shows actual data for all three variables is 2003. Auto sales in the Sacramento PMSA and for California are forecasted for 2004, based on actual data through the 4th quarter of 2003 and preliminary results for the 2nd quarter of 2004 for California, to show a 9.2% increase in the PMSA in 2003, compared to a 7.1% increase in the state and a 4.3% increase in the U.S. The PMSA should have had another 9.2% increase in 2004 and the state another 7.1% increase. Auto sales for the United States, based on preliminary actual data through December, increased 6.2% in 2004.
