Employment
Employment in Nevada County (a.k.a. Truckee-Grass Valley Micropolitan Statistical Area) increased in 2012, with a 0.6% (200 jobs)gain. The forecast for 2013, based on actual data through December, 2012, is for a smaller increase of 0.5% (100 jobs).

Unemployment
The annual average Unemployment Rate in Nevada County declined in 2012 to 9.4%, down from the 10.6% annual average in 2011. The forecast for 2013 for the average annual Unemployment Rate, based on actual data through December, 2012, is an increase to 9.8% in 2013.

Taxable Sales
Nevada County's Taxable Sales stopped three years of decline by increasing 2.9% in 2010. The forecast for 2011, based on actual data through the 3rd quarter of 2011, is a larger 5.6% increase, followed by a 2.5% increase in 2012 and another 2.5% increase in 2013.
