Number of Persons Employed
The average number of persons employed (as measured by the Household Survey) in Sutter County increased 0.45% (160 persons) in 2012, compared to the 1.5% increase in 2011. The forecast for 2013, based on actual data through December, 2011, is for a similar increase of 0.75% (270 persons).

Unemployment
The average annual Unemployment Rate in Sutter County for 2012 was 17.6%, down from the 18.8% rate in 2011. The average annual rate for 2013, based on actual data through December, 2012, is expected to increase to 18.3%.

Taxable Sales
Taxable Sales, all Outlets increased 2.4% to $1.2 billion in 2010, after sales in 2009 decreased, down $106.9 million (8.3%). The forecast for 2011, based on actual data through the 3rd quarter of 2011, is for an increase of 8.3%, followed by a 4.2% increase in 2012 and a 4.2% increase in 2013.
